Coimbatore Medical College is one of the leading government medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in Avinashi Road in the city of Coimbatore,TamilNadu ,India , about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from Coimbatore International Airport. The college was established in 1966 after G D Naidu, a scientist from an industrial family of the city, donated the 153 acres of land to the Tamil Nadu state government under the Chief Minister K. Establishment of the Medical College
1966: Coimbatore Medical College was founded following a generous donation of 153 acres of land by G. D. Naidu, a pioneering scientist and industrialist. The land was donated to the Government of Tamil Nadu during the leadership of Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.
24 November 1969: The Directorate of Medical Education officially took over the hospital, which was subsequently renamed Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Origins of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH)
1908: Foundation stone laid by Lord Ampthill, Governor of Madras.
14 July 1909: Official inauguration of the hospital.
1 April 1912: Administration taken over by the Madras Government from the Coimbatore Municipality.
13 August 1959: Golden Jubilee celebrated, with attendance by Sri Bishnuram Medhi, Governor of Madras.
